There was standing room only at today’s Utah Valley Entrepreneurial Forum (UVEF) awards event held at Zion’s Bank Canyon Room in downtown Provo. “Boostrapping” start-up Boostability took top honors with a raft of awesome companies nipping at their heels. Of special note this year, the same entrepreneur group posting 2 winners in today’s Top 25 Under 5. PcCareSupport was #5 and Outbox Systems was #18. Cool!
Carine Clark, CEO at Allegiance, smoothly filled the celebrity emcee roll, filling the room with frequent laughter and applause. The Twitter buzz said it best of Carine:
I served as Novell PR team lead for the largest ever BrainShare 2000 where we hosted 150 editors from every continent and held 450 press interviews in three days, yielding 300 media stories within 30 days. 7000 Novell fans packed the Salt Palace that year. However, today was the first time I knew BrainShare was Carine’s “brain child.” Today was also the first time I became aware of Carine’s year long fight with cancer, hardly missing a beat in her busy family and work schedule. Hat’s off to you Carine. She recently received a “clean” bill of health from her doc. Yay!
During its 24 year history among the longest running entrepreneur support groups in the state, UVEF has hosted around 290 networking events for 28,000+ attendees receiving best business practices mentoring from over 450 experienced entrepreneurs. This year’s other award recipients from #2 to #25 are Edge Homes, MoneyDesktop, Jamberry Nails, PcCareSupport, Peak Capital Partners, Orabrush, Inc., KT Tape, Decisions, Persnickety Clothing Company, BambooHR, Weave, BizVision, LLC, Launch Leads, Lancera, US MRI, Firefly Innovations LLC, Outbox Systems, Fit Marketing, Professional Cable, Ascent Advisor, Crux, Sprint Marketing, FundingDatabase.com LLC, and Red Wagon Toys.
