Disruptive Technology Wins in Public Relations

Some entrepreneurial startups succeed based on incredible customer service (ie. Zappos). Some businesses win based on an expectational marquee player endorsement (ie. Skull Candy & Blender Bottle). Some of the most fun public relations I’ve been involved with has been companies with truly world changing technology, like PilmerPR client SpotterRF.

On December 7, 1941 the U.S. Army at Pearl Harbor Hawaii was just trying out a new technology called radar. Without an understanding of the immense importance of this breakthrough in perimeter defense, and with poorly trained soldiers, history records the blunder of disregarding the early radar warning of an large approaching air force that culminated in the day that will “go down in infamy.”

Well, this week once again radar news sought to garner the attention of military leaders with the advent of the world’s smallest ground radar for elite forces. This difference is this time the leaders  are paying attention. The SpotterRF Radar Backpack news released at SOFIC in Tampa is cris-crossing the globe as well as the Pentagon.  It’s fulfilling to be a part of this new Paul Revere ride to alert key influencers of life saving technology for small force deployment.
