In a recently released survey, Utah was listed as one of the friendliest states for small businesses. Since the survey began, back in 2012, Utah has been voted in the top by the state’s own business owners each year. The survey, performed by Thumbtack.com, in association with Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation, gets their data straight from the horses’ mouth. They talk to the business owners themselves to get their rankings.

The Kauffman Foundation published a study in 2009 that says that “in every single year from 1996 to 2007, Americans between the ages of 55 and 64 had a higher rate of entrepreneurial activity than those aged 20-34, averaging a rate of entrepreneurial activity roughly one-third larger than their youngest counterparts.”
The study also points out that:
